Dates for the diary this week:
* Hockey and Netball on Tuesday block 2.
* Bike day Thursday. We are learning how to check for traffic, indicate and pull out at a junction as well as some road code theory.
* QUEST: New times this term. Every Tuesday and Wednesday 11am - 11.45am.
* Passion Fridays: All session times are up in the classroom.

Any shoe with a white or any colour other than black rim is not acceptable. The shoe must be plain black as you look at it from the front, back and side.
A big thank you to those who have made a real effort to improve your times table knowledge. Keep at it; we have started working on multiplication, division and fractions which anyone will struggle at without a strong times table recall.
We are doing weekly tests on a Monday, practicing our words midweek and retesting each Friday. Ask your child how they are doing? They are welcome to take spelling books home each night (and return them the next day).
Please have a look at your child's descriptive writing that they finished publishing a few weeks ago. I am very proud (as are they) of the hard work that they have all put in. I am 100% sure that you will see a notable improvement in their writing; check it out on their school google drive account.
This week we are continuing report (non fiction) writing, researching an animal of our choice and produce a detailed paragraphed report on our findings. We will be applying our upgraded punctuation skills to these tasks. As the term progresses we are planning a final report linked to our inquiry 'Change.' It was wonderful to observe B7 being so passionate about changing the publics perspectives about global affairs. Watch this space for more details.
In maths we are back improving our number knowledge and strategy. Most groups are looking at adding, subtracting and multiplying decimals. We are strengthening our knowledge of decimals by looking at fractions and percentages and converting between them.
In reading we are working on our note taking and summarising skills. We are taking notes on a topic of our choice to write about for report writing. We are also delving into topics like solar energy, electric (self drive) cars and how the earth was created (the science version) :-)
Come and have a look inside our classroom. We have finished our 'Hundertwasser' inspired pastel art. Our bright, interesting and imaginative styles are on display and looking so good! This term we will be working with paint and dye, producing 'tapa' cloth designs.
Passion Friday activity lists are up in the classroom. Please do not be alarmed if you have not received your requested activities. Everyone will get a turn, we just need to be patient and wait for the next draw of activities.
Our netball and hockey skills have been improving too! It has been fun witnessing the class learning new sports and skills. We have a large focus on fitness and Physical Education. Please let Mr T know (a note or email will do) if you are unwell or physically unable to take part for some reason.
We have been making the most of our bikes and the bike track over the last two terms. We have been increasing our balance and coordination. We have been practicing everything from manoeuvring at slow speeds to going over obstacles and ramps. Some of us are even pulling up the front wheel and learning how to 'bunny hop!' We are also focussing on road safety and how to correctly indicate at junctions.
Table tennis and badminton are now offered on Monday and Wednesday lunchtimes in the hall; get into it!
Please remember to bring a water bottle into school to maintain good health and concentration, (but remember to keep water and food away from your device when transporting).
